When Losing is Winning

08/13/09 | by Caryl [mail] | Categories: Health

People in there fifties seem to be challenged by a new foe. Some of us take up the call and join in the "Battle of the Bulge".

When you are younger, everything seems easier. When did walking become "exercise"? If you can figure that one out - then you will be able to tell just when you turned the corner.

Think about it - walking was just how you got from the car to the door or over to your best friends house or how you got back and forth to school. (boy, how I long for those days again ;)) Now a days I use walking as an "exercise" to help me get back in shape.

I hope and pray that some day in the not too far off future, I will not have to think twice about walking anywhere!

I am going to add that knowing when something requires "effort" I tend to put it off, I decided to get a new "Hobby" or activity that involves ACTION. Something that I love to do AND it is healthy doing it.

I know that nothing will seem like that much effort the more weight I take off.

Oh  - maybe that is why people take up golf... (golf is not for me just yet) there has to be something out there for me

I am going to look into cycling. More specifically, Tricycling! I have read a lot about the Recumbent Tricycles and they seem to remove all of the pain away from riding and just leave all the good parts...
